“A bond between souls is ancient – older than the planet.” (Dianna Hardy)

No space, no situations, and no people can separate two souls that cherish themselves. If we look for a soulmate’s definition we usually find a romantic connection in between, but I tend to disagree even though they most likely exist. I think that someone can love a person deeply, a love that is even more powerful than the romantic one. That kind of love that wants the other one to be happy no matter what — no matter if the source of happiness is themselves or another partner!

The goal is to laugh forever, but even more important than that is to be there in moments of sadness and unbalance! One of us has to be the light at the end of the tunnel for the other. One has to be the guide that speaks the truth, the kind of truth that the other didn’t hear in the first place! One of us has to bring back the equilibrium for his/her soulmate. And of course, this needs to be reciprocated for an unbreakable bond!

This happens in any kind of relationship or at least it should. Whether it’s love we are talking about, family bonds or friendships, we should offer and be able to receive from others the balance that we need to keep the relationship alive! Be there, be present, talk about what bothers you and also listen carefully to what the person in front of you has to say! Don’t listen just to respond, listen to understand and improve your connection!

„A soulmate is the one person whose love is powerful enough to motivate you to meet your soul, to do the emotional work of self-discovery, of awakening.” (Kenny Loggins)

„Having perfected our disguise, we spend our lives searching for someone we don’t fool.” (Robert Brault)

… I always feel at peace when I’m near the sea! Why this happens it still is a mystery for me, but I somehow managed to give myself a satisfying response. In this place, no masks are needed… No disguise, just pure emotions!
There’s so much beauty in every color, in every wave! There’s a connection between everything, a complicity between the sky and the sea, between the waves and the shore… Every seashell, every stone, every cloud wondering on the sky seems to have a story to tell! They’ve been the witnesses of so many promises and so many unspoken thoughts!

This made me wonder how is it that we are so afraid to let our guards down… how is it that we are so terrified to break the walls we’ve built and let another person take a look inside us, but still we always confide to the sea, the stars, the mountains… We don’t open wide enough our doors to let others feel our true skin, our emotions, and yet we still wish for that one special person to find in our demons his/her angels, to see behind our vulnerabilities all the strength we have… To stay in the sun with us, but most of all in the storm… to just be there, when everything else falls apart!

We long for the complicity and connection that nature has between all its elements, so even if we are so used to wearing our masks, at the end of the day we just want to be next to someone who can see clearly what’s been hidden underneath it for so long!

Her eyes were lowered and she was breathing heavily. Dianne looked beyond the journal’s pages and the silky sheets in which she sat all by herself, pouring her soul on paper. Most of all, she felt every word as if it was written on her own skin. Tonight something strange had happened. Usually, this whole process would have been a therapeutic way that would have made her feel better, lighter, soothed, but this time things were different. Tonight, there was something changed inside her too…

People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. – Elizabeth Gilbert
